Huatabampo Mission Trip

HUATABAMPO, MEXICO.

We were told that Huatabampo, Sonora, Mexico was a pleasant place. To our delight, it was so much more.

Last month, after several carryovers, we had the opportunity to spend 8 days in this beautiful town, filled with deep relationship building with the team that hosted us in Huatabampo, the beautiful Ayala family, and serving this beautiful community. We’ll forever remember the faces of those that we got to share and minister to during our outreaches.

It was a thrill for us to see what gorgeous landscapes of fertile fields as we approached. The vast amounts of farm land that surrounded the area told us that this is a very blessed spot on God’s earth, acres of tilled soil.
Pastor Juanita, from Acuña, Mexico, and who accompanied us on our trip, shared a prophetic word during our first devotional stating the same sentiment.

“Huatabampo was ripe for harvest” and she too pointed to the farm fields as the illumination of the Holy Spirit and the whisper of the Lord came to her. Amen, we said.

We participated in 4 different outreaches to kids and their families; in López Mateos, a church planted by pastor Ayala and ran now by pastor Tute and Karen, plus El Calvario’s three feeding centers.

The children, with excited joy and contagious smiles, along with their parents came to play games, be ministered to, join in song and worship and have a delicious meal. The parents participated in a nutritional workshop by our very own, Yuri Jiménez. Some of these children will grow up and be mighty women and men of God. That is why we came.

We ministered at a rehab center for men with a worship night with Misael Jiménez and El Calvario. The men worshipped God and when you worship Him, your heart is changed. These men, both young and old, a numbering more than a hundred, joined as one to give God glory. And when we had the opportunity, we prayed for them, we shared in fellowship as we ate a meal together. Hardened men who had lived lives filled with turmoil, chaos and drugs, and who were now seeking help, blessed us more than we blessed them. Of this, we’re certain.

We also delivered food baskets for families in need, worked in the church remodeling project and hosted a pastor’s conference with several ministers from around the area. We hosted an appreciation dinner for El Calvario’s volunteers team, and we also joined the local team for a three of their church services that week. El Calvario is a church that is transforming lives and the whole community. To experience and witness the power of God moving through their efforts is everything in knowing God’s will is being served in Huatabampo.

Our next mission trip will take place in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, on December 10th to 12th. We will also minister to children, deliver food baskets, have a medical outreach, hold a leadership workshop and celebrate a worship night.  We want you to be part of all this by praying for us, and if God lays it on your heart, you can give towards these outreaches.
